Time To Commit To Get Back in Shape

The United States is one of the most technologically advanced and industrialized nations in the world and no matter what its current political situation, we are fortunate to call this country our home. Unfortunately, we are severely behind other countries when it comes to overall fitness and health and we have become the most overweight society in the world.

Our workdays have become increasingly longer and more arduous leading to higher levels of stress and poorer eating habits. This can easily explain how the fast food establishments are still flourishing in this time of greater awareness of what we put in our system. It’s a simple fact that when you put this type of food in you, your body responds by packing on the pounds in the form of unhealthy fat, less energy, and a greater susceptibility to sickness.

We become locked into a routine of unhealthy living and eating habits. Enough “doom and gloom” though. No matter what your age or physical condition, you can do something about it. Two years ago I was terribly overweight, smoked cigars and had a couple of drinks on a daily basis. To make matters even worse, I was 53 years old and not getting any younger. It was time for my wake up call and I got it after looking at the pictures from my daughter’s wedding.

Getting fit means changing your lifestyle by eating healthy and exercising regularly for a lifetime of fitness and health. The key words here are lifetime and regularity. There is another important word that I omitted and that is commitment. Without this key ingredient, your enthusiasm will wane in a short period of time and you will lose any gains that you had made.

There are two obvious conditions that have to be met and adhered to when starting out a new program. The first is exercise and the second is eating healthy. Listen, diets do not work….period! You have to change your eating habits and what you eat. To stay abreast on the latest developments on a natural lifestyle, visit this sight; NaturalNews.com and sign up for the email alerts. Have your ever heard the term “plan your work then work your plan”? It has been used in the business world for years, but can be used just as easily in your fitness program. If you are reading this article, then you enjoy and appreciate the free resources the internet can give to you. Use these resources to put together a total fitness plan for yourself. Find what is right and will work for you. There are no two fitness programs alike, so tailor yours around your schedule and what you want to accomplish.

If you are one of the millions of Americans that know they need to do something about their physical condition, then make the decision to do something about it. Do not be one of the people that say “I will wait until Monday to get started” because Monday will never come. Our families are special to all of us and we want to an active part of their lives. Without good physical health, that won’t and can’t happen. Get started now!
